My work
Experimental stencil collage work
Below will be pieces of my own work that I like the most out of all of the pieces of work that I have done during my time in college so far.
The piece above is a collage that I created myself using scrap pieces of materials and glueing them down with watered down PVA glue. Once the glue had dried I then painted on the union jack using blue and red paint. After the paints had then dried I then used an emulsion to paint the white anekie A on top of that, I let it dry and then put a second coat on it to make the A more bold. While this dried, I then went onto google and took an image of billie joe armstrong and put it in photoshop. Once the image was then in photoshop I then put a threshold on the image and adjusted until I was happy. Once the image was thresholded I then used the rubber to rub out some of the black area's so that the whole image was linked to white on the screen, I did this so that when I printed it onto acetate and cut it out using a craft knife there wouldnt be any little bits that may be lost. After finishing with the image on screen I printed it onto the acetate and cut out the black bit off the image. I also did it with the yellow star's. After my image had been cut out I got some black paint and a sponge. Then using spray mount I coated the back side of my image and stuck it lightly onto my collage then using the sponge and black paint I dabbed on the black paint, some areas heavier than others. Once I was happy with how it looked I peeled off the acetate and stuck down the acetate with the stars on it and did the same with yellow paint for the stars. Finally I left the paint to dry and then added the bandana looking cloth to the top and tide a bow.
The reason I chose Billie Joe Armstrong to use on my collage is at the time we were doing a brief called RAD(Radical) during this brief we had to create a brand for a skateboard company so when we were creating our collage's we had to choose a person or a topic that is associated with skateboarding, so I chose Green Day as punk rock is associated with skateboarding. The union jack and the anekie A is associated with Green Dary and punk rock so that is why I chose to add them into the collage also.
I chose this piece as I am really proud of the outcome of the work and I think that it is a really good final piece of work and really shows my skills and creativity.

The piece of work above is another piece of work that I put together as a second try with the printing technique. This time I decided to try and make the image and in a whole more simple than the previous one above to see if it had the same kind of effect as before. This time rather than using the same person I chose another band vocalist "M. Shadows" from the band "Avenged Sevenfold". The Sillhouette was originally my friend Jamie's and asked if I could borrow it to create another piece of work to do a bit of experimenting, the two reasons I chose to do this is because Avenged Sevenfold is one of my favourite bands and wanted to use a band member from that band in a piece of work. The other reason I chose to create
Pop art
avenged sevenfold
Above is a piece of work that I decided to work on through personal choice as I enjoyed using the technique of pop art, I enjoyed the process so I took a picture of my favourite band decide to do a big piece of them in a pop art style.
captain jack sparrow
Here is another piece of pop art work that I did of Captain Jack Sparrow from the film Pirates of the Caribbean that I decided to do for fun as I enjoyed the technique that you use to create pop art.
the joker
This piece to the right of The Joker from the Batman films, I chose The Joker as during the brief I was given during college, we were told to choose a movie character or a famous person so I chose The Joker as he is my favorite film villain.
synyster gates
Like the pop art of The Joker above I also chose to do Synyster Gates from one of my favorite bands Avenged Sevenfold, this was the very first pop art piece of work that I did so compared to the most latest one that I have done the quality isnt as good as it could be.
architecture over time
The image to the right is a piece I created for a competition that was held in London, the aim of the competition was to create a piece of art work that was to do with time, it could be anything at all you wanted as long as it was to do with time, or represented time in some form or way. I chose to use pop art to show the change of architecture over time from what buildings looked like from 1895 to what they may look like in 2030.
